More support for St. FX AUT

DFA President David Mensink has sent another letter of support to St.FX Association of University Teachers, as well as news of another donation approved by the Executive Committee this morning. Additionally, another bus Organized by the Association of Nova Scotia University Teachers will be going to St. F.X this Friday. Anyone wanting to go, please email  [email protected]. We also have picket signs in support of St. F. X

Here is the text of the letter:

We continue to support you and stand by you in this very difficult time. It is unconscionable that your Administration has forced you into a third week of a strike when the union has made so many concessions to reach a settlement.

We, too, are concerned with the ascendance of managerial privilege over proper support for the University’s academic mission, and the lack of transparency in decision making over spending.

As a gesture of support, and on behalf of our members, we are sending you another donation to be delivered by our CAUT Defence Fund trustees, who will be joining your pickets on Friday.

We hope your university administration’s bargaining team returns to the table committed to achieving a fair and equitable settlement.
